Compared to the ARDEX mixing kit - Mixing barrels can be hard to come by...The 15 gallon mixing barrel (European style) with molded inside handles and has a removable steel-belted lid. Used to mix more cementitious materials prior to application. It is made of a high density polypropylene. What we have gathered from manufacturers is this option is most popular with contractors because there are no handles to break off.
